Catherine Lai is the founder of YouZenAn and Esca Design. An interior designer by profession, she has spent decades creating spaces that bring beauty, comfort, and connection into people's lives.
In March 2015, Catherine lost her husband, Dato Tony Lee. As she navigated life after loss and watched her two sons step into adulthood, she began reflecting on what the next chapter of her life should stand for. The answer was simple: to keep moving forward.
An avid cyclist, hiker, swimmer, and mountain trekker, Catherine has completed Everest Base Camp and summited Mera Peak. She continues to find her greatest inspiration in nature.

Growing up surrounded by Southeast Asia’s floral rituals, Catherine Lai found beauty not only in petals but in the way they carried blessings, comfort, and care.
From childhood mandi bunga memories to her journey as a designer and wellness advocate, she learned that flowers were more than fragrance — they were healing.
Inspired by the names of founder Catherine Lai's two sons, Alexander Lee Zhen An and Adrian Lee Yu An. The name
carries three interwoven meanings:
YOU — We create for you.
ZEN — We create for your zen.
AN (安) — Peace and light.
YouZenAn was born from that decision — more than a brand, a symbol of resilience, renewal, and the belief that life continues. A message to her sons: that while we carry those we love with us always, we must continue to grow, create, and embrace new beginnings.

The Origin of 7 Bunga
The origin of 7 Bunga is a memory of love, not a remedy.
As a child, the founder suffered from severe eczema. Her mother, in her love, tried everything to help — method after method, never giving up. Among them was the Mandi Bunga, the seven-flower bath. The eczema never healed. What endured was not a cure but the memory of the mother's love — her hands, the flowers, the cool water, the quiet, intentional care — and the feeling of berseri (radiance / inner brightness) that her love created.
That memory, and only that memory, is what inspired 7 Bunga.
